The 2017-2018 repertoire reflects Masterwork's commitment to superior choral performances designed to engage and excite audiences and singers alike. The season began with hugely successful fundraiser "Masterwork Mania." December was jam-packed with The Masterwork Camerata's "Gifts of the Season", the annual Messiah Sing-Along and, of course, The Masterwork Chorus and Orchestra's annual performances of Handel's Messiah at Carnegie Hall and Ridge PAC (NJ).
The season continues as the chorus, energized by its sold out Messiah performance at Carnegie Hall, begins preparation for a March celebration of the Bernstein Centenary. Selections from Mass, Candide, West Side Story and other works comprise Masterwork's participation in the two-year celebration of this genius composer's 100th birthday. The season concludes with War and Peace, a program that juxtaposes the lovely Fauré Requiem with Ralph Vaughan Williams' powerful Dona Nobis Pacem, a plea for the peace so desperately needed in these troubled times.
